Celebrate summer with Paddle Party, the Land Trust's floating fundraiser! Immerse yourself on a family friendly 2-hour float on the scenic Illinois River, followed by a cookout and live DJ at Gypsy Camp and Canoe. Secure your spots now and be part of the fun at Paddle Party! Paddle Party Schedule: 12:00 PM: Gates Open and Registration Begins 1:00 PM: Meet at Gypsy Camp Shuttle Station. For those floating, we will gather at the Gypsy Camp Shuttle Station, located near the entrance of the camp. Look out for signs indicating the shuttle station! 1:30 PM: Last shuttle will leave Gypsy Camp This is the final call for boarding the shuttle that will transport participants to the starting point of the float! 2:00 PM: Embark on the Illinois River Get ready to embark on an adventure as the group sets off on a two-hour float along the scenic Illinois River! Experience the joy of gliding through captivating natural beauty, immersing yourself into the slow spring-fed rapids of the Illinois River, and sharing laughter with fellow paddlers. 4:00-4:30 PM: Arrive back to Gypsy Camp After the float, participants will unload at Gypsy Camp. Take your time to disembark the canoes or kayaks and return any rental equipment. Share stories and experiences from the float with while the party gets started! 4:30-7:00 PM: Dry Land Party Get ready to transition from the river to the ultimate dry land party! As we fire up the cookout, get your groove while a 90s cover band rocks the river and grab some Paddle raffle tickets for the drawing later in the evening. Let's party like it’s 1994 all over again! *All boats and accompanying equipment will be provided by Gypsy Camp and Canoe. Remember to bring essential items for a comfortable and enjoyable experience, including a dry bag, towel, hat, sunscreen, and water-friendly clothes and shoes.
